Frequently Asked Questions
Can I volunteer on vacation then use the rewards at home?
We are currently working to expand Volunteer to See to many different areas throughout the country, however it is important to stay true to our mission to promote areas businesses and attractions. That way when a participant volunteers with a local non-profit they can then experience a great local attraction to learn more about the community they are visiting.
How do I participate in the rewards program?
If you are an individual or family traveler and have found time to add a volunteer opportunity to your trip, please contact us here to inquire about a volunteer opportunity at your destination. Upon completing your volunteer agreement the volunteer coordinator will give you a gift certificate to area businesses and restaurants.
For convention guests, if you have decided to participate in a donation drive or a volunteer project at the completion of the project or at the acceptance of your donation you will be given a rewards coupon to a participating business or restaurant.
Is there a limit to how long I have to volunteer?
While we do not require a time limit commitment, we recommend a minimum of three hours to ensure that each participant is able to give back effectively to the non-profits after introduction, safety talks and learning about the organization. This allows the volunteer to accomplish tasks that will greatly benefit the non-profit.
I have small children is it possible for them to volunteer with the non-profits?
Each non-profit establishes its own minimum age with its insurance companies to ensure that volunteers are at their safest when working. In order to accommodate all guests Volunteer to See will need to be informed of minor’s (under 18 years of age) to see if our local non-profit partners are able to accommodate minors.
I represent a non-profit and would like to be involved in your organization, to whom do I speak?
The mission and goals of our non-profit partners are very important to us. Please understand that some non-profits will not always be a good match with our vision. However, we encourage any and all organizations to contact us here with their questions on participating.
I am a local business owner, how do I participate in the rewards program?
If you and your business are passionate about your community and making a positive change or if your business is looking to become part of a innovative tourism idea, please contact us here and we can coordinate a meeting to discuss a future partnership.
